Melissa Visconti Moreno,
J.D., is an entrepreneur, educator, author, consultant and CEO.
She is the founding
Executive Director of the Scheinfeld Center for Entrepreneurship &
Innovation at Santa Barbara City College in California. The Scheinfeld Center
became a national award-winning program and serves as an educational model for
other colleges. Under Melissa’s
direction, the Scheinfeld Center was awarded two regional designations and she
serves as Director of both the Small Business Development Center and the Center
for International Trade Development.
Melissa was born with a
passion for teaching and continues to teach students in entrepreneurship. Her core philosophy for young
entrepreneurs is spend more time doing
and believes the two-year college setting is the perfect venue in which to kick-start
entrepreneurs.
Melissa exercises her own entrepreneur
muscle working on her new independent hotel brand and proprietary management
system for independent hotel owners. For the past 20 years, as owner and CEO,
she has run an independent hotel company in Arizona and Montana. She also
consults for small businesses and start-ups.
Melissa completed her
undergraduate studies at University of California, Santa Barbara, and received
her Juris Doctorate from the College of Law in Santa Barbara. She is admitted
to the California State Bar and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
